Natural Approach

We offer a natural approach vs. an ordinary western medical approach.

There are causes for your health problems.
Toxins - air pollution, heavy metals, virus's, fungus, parasites, bacteria, pesticides, yeast, genetics, trauma, lifestyle, poor sleep, lack of exercise, poor diet, medications, food triggers, vaccinations, and many more

Your body naturally fights these causes. The immune response kicks in and creates inflammation to try to stop the cause. When the cause is stopped the immune response stops, and things go back to normal.

If the immune system is so overloaded that it continues to create inflammation, the inflammation causes symptoms such as pain, stomach upset, headache, back pain, bloating, colds, sinus problems, etc.

Most medical drugs are designed to stop the inflammation but not to treat the cause.

Since the cause is not treated the problem continues and so do the drugs. The same causes create new symptoms, which are masked by drugs.

A more natural approach is to go after the causes. But how?

•  Drain
•  Strengthen
•  Detoxify
•  Re-program

1. What is drainage?

Your body is always trying to drain. In other words it is eliminating. Every cell eliminates, organs eliminate, your entire body eliminates. The main elimination organs are the liver, colon, kidneys, lymphatic system, lungs, and skin. We use natural herbal & homeopathic products, physical methods, and energetic method to assist the body's elimination organs.
If you don't drain well you will attract bacteria because the bacteria tries to eat away the stagnant toxic waste in your body, similar to the bacteria you find in garbage dump.

2. What do we mean by strengthen?

Once we get your organs draining better we want to strengthen them. If they have not been draining well they become weak. Some of the ways we help strengthen them are by giving the body nutrients. We may introduce good bacteria, we might provide enzymes to strengthen the digestive system, or we might use vitamins to help strengthen the heart.

3. What do we mean by detoxifying?

Detoxification is different than draining. When we detoxify we draw out the toxins so they can be eliminated or drained from the body. Think of drainage as breaking down a dam in a river. Think of detoxification as sweeping away all the junk that has accumulated on the sides of the river and putting it in the current to be taken away.

4. What do we mean by reprogramming?

Reprogramming is getting the body to react properly to the environment. If a body encounters a toxin it should reject it. If a body encounters good food it should accept it. We help the body to do this better.

How do we do this? We do this by getting the meridian energy to work using Meridian Micro Point Therapy, BRT, NAET, BioSet, and TBM, which are specialized forms of acupressure. We get the nervous system to work by using advanced forms of low force chiropractic techniques.

Toxic Triggers

Your body is always responding to the environment. Sometimes your body has a response to the environment that is not in its best interest. It gets into a pattern. When your body remains toxic for a very long time even though we get it draining well and we detoxify it, it can still react as if the toxins were still there. We call these "toxic triggers".

An analogy would be as follows: Your father always yelled at you no matter what you did, then you moved across the country away from him. But when ever you saw a man that looked like you father you began to cry. Your body also responds to old memories using old inappropriate patterns.

We use homeopathic and other energetic methods such as meridian micro point therapy BRT, NAET, and TBM to help your body break the pattern of reacting inappropriately to toxins. The same can be applied to food.

Food Triggers

Many people are sensitive to certain foods. These sensitivities may not be visible in a blood test or on a skin test. We help reprogram the body to behave normally in response to those "food triggers".

If your body drains better, if your body is less toxic, and your body reacts better to the environment you can enjoy better health.

More on "food triggers" and allergy problems.

Common problems we deal with in our office are food triggers. A food trigger is a food that causes stress on the body. A certain food may not cause an allergic reaction in the blood but it can cause you stress and may contribute to allergy symptoms just the same.

Blood tests are commonly used to determine food allergies but blood tests results often come back normal. You may still feel allergy symptoms when you eat certain foods. This is why certain foods can cause stress on your body but the stress is not found in your blood. That's because food stress is more likely to show up in your acupuncture system.

Here's a way to explain food triggers:

Think of your acupuncture (or meridian energy) system as a series of radio towers covering the surface of your body. They send and receive information. Anything that comes in contact with that system, such as toxins, and even good things like food, may create a stress to this system.

So what we do in our office is look for specific food triggers that cause stress to your acupuncture (meridian energy) system (food triggers). What we often find is that food triggers may not show up as allergens in your blood but they do cause symptoms all the same.

Another way to explain what's happening is to say that your body is "mis-programmed". You may eat a normal food such as broccoli but it causes your acupuncture system to feel stressed. What we do is reprogram your acupuncture meridian energy) system so that you will be able to eat that food without your meridian system feeling stress (allergic symptoms).

We do this using Meridian Micropoint Therapy (a needless acupressure system) and other homeopathic and herbal techniques such as BioSet, NAET, TBM, herbs, diet changes and homeopathic remedies.

Blood Tests are misleading

Most people think that these types of problems should be found in the blood but the following explanation shows why most functional problems are not found in the blood.

Most ordinary medical doctors rely on blood work to measure your health.
They use blood work to measure your cholesterol. They lead you to believe that all you have to do to be healthy is to have low cholesterol.

This is a Myth!

Blood is very important to the body. Of all body parts, the blood must maintain a very narrow balance or the result could be death.

So if you develop a problem somewhere in your body the blood is the last place the body will put it.

Imagine your house is a mess and your living room is your blood. You clean all the clutter out of the living room and put the junk in the basement, the closet, or the attic. Is your house clean? No, but if all you see is the living room you might say yes.

That's what blood work is like. Your blood is the living room. Your body will put the "problem" somewhere else. So if your blood work comes out bad that means your health is in really bad shape. If your blood work comes out good it still doesn't mean you are in good health.

How many times have you gone to a doctor and said, "If my blood work is so great why do I feel so bad?"

Has your doctor ever wanted to "Wait until the blood work gets bad?"

The Endocrine System and Endocrine Disruptors

TOXINS CAN AFFECT THE ENDOCRINE (HORMONE) SYSTEM

What is the Endocrine System?

The endocrine system is comprised of a number of glands in the body. Glands in the endocrine system include the ovaries, the testes, the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands; the pineal body; the pancreas, as well as cells of the gastrointestinal tract. The difference between endocrine glands and other glands in the body is that endocrine glands secrete certain chemicals called hormones.

Hormones can also be called "chemical messengers". They are produced by the endocrine glands and then enter the blood stream. They travel through the blood stream to specific "receptors" in target organs or systems where they can trigger their biological effects.

The endocrine systems is very important because it co-ordinates and regulates many essential body functions. Some of which are:

  • Growth and maturation
  • Behavior
  • Reproduction and embryo development
  • Production, use and storage of energy
  • Balance and maintenance of water and salt (electrolytes) in the body
  • Reaction to stimuli (e.g. fright, excitement)

Examples of Hormones

  • ACTH (adrenocorticotrophic hormone) is produced by the pituitary gland to influence the release of corticosteroid hormones from the adrenal glands.
  • ADH (anti-diuretic hormone, vasopressin) produced by the pituitary gland to stimulate water reabsorption by the kidneys.
  • Adrenaline (epinephrine) and nor adrenaline (nor epinephrine) are two hormones formed in the adrenal gland that help the body to react (e.g., flight or fight, body defense mechanisms) under stressful conditions (they can increase the heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, blood clotting rate).
  • Estrogen is a female hormone produced mainly in the ovaries. It's used for the growth and development of sex organs and other tissues related to reproduction. Estrogen makes the uterus lining, the endometrium, ready to implant a fertilized egg.
  • Insulin is secreted by the pancreas and regulates the storage and use of carbohydrates in the body.
  • Thyroid hormone is produced in the thyroid and influences the function of virtually every cell in the body (growth, development and metabolism).

Why is the endocrine system so critical to our health and well-being?

The endocrine system controls many functions of the body, both immediate reactions as well as life-long functions. The hormones stabilize or balance functions in the body. Any disruption to this balance can cause changes in the reproduction, development, growth, or behavior that can affect that animal or human or their offspring.

There are substances called Endocrine Disruptors both naturally occurring and man-made that can affect the endocrine system. Some chemicals in plants have estrogen-like effects. Estrogen hormones tell the body to make more and larger cells therefore making you fat. Also, if too many cells start growing out of control you can develop tumors some of which could be cancerous. Certain drugs and environmental pollutants can either mimic or block actions of some hormones. When there is interference with the normal communication between the "messenger" hormone and the cell receptors, the chemical message is misinterpreted and an abnormal response is generated in the body.

An analogy is if there is too much junk mail in your mailbox you can't get the good mail that you need. You get the wrong message or you get no message at all.

Understanding the role of the endocrine system (and the hormones they produce) in the normal functioning of the body gives us some indication of the types of problems that might occur when proper function is disrupted.

What Do These Toxins Do To The Body?

The body is made of cells. Cells have "receptor sites". These receptors sites receive communication in the form of hormones. They fit like a lock and a key.
Once inside, the hormones give the cell a message telling it to do something, like:

  • "Produce energy."
  • "Grow."
  • "Stop growing."
  • "Reproduce."
  • "Make something."
  • "Get rid of something."
  • "Fight infection."

There are thousands of possible messages.

ENDOCRINE DISRUPTOR TOXINS get in the receptor sites and block them. If the cell receptor site is clogged the hormone can't get inside. The message can't be delivered.

If the endocrine disruptor stimulates or inhibits the endocrine system, then increased or decreased amounts of hormone may be produced. In some cases, even very small amounts of a disruptor may have a detectable affect.

If you think you are safe from endocrine disruptors, think again.

Here's why it may affect you.

Natural substances such as sex hormones or plant chemicals that have estrogen-like effects can become concentrated in industrial, agricultural and municipal wastes. Exposure to these wastes may produce reactions in humans, wildlife, fish and birds.

Synthetic chemicals suspected as endocrine disruptors may reach humans and animals in a variety of ways. Some of these are pesticides, industrial waste, which include dioxins and PCBs and some are discharged from industrial or municipal treatments systems. Heavy metal toxins can have a disastrous effect on the endocrine system.
